Frozen Shoulder Syndrome

You have probably heard of getting the cold shoulder, what about the frozen shoulder?

Frozen shoulder, or Adhesive Capsulitis, refers to the loss of movement within the shoulder, this restriction literally freezes the joint! How this freeze takes place refers to the damage andFrozen shoulder evaluated by chiropractor, bozeman, montana, what is it and how is it treated? inflammation resulting in thickening and shortening of the shoulder tissues that make up the shoulder capsule, which can eventually causes them to stick together. Past injuries that never healed correctly can cause degeneration have also been found to cause the stiffness and pain. Two symptoms are most commonly associated with frozen shoulder; pain and stiffness which both restrict the full range of motion in the joint, meaning limited mobility in all directions. People who most commonly experience frozen shoulder are between the age of 40-60 and female. People who have these symptoms experience them while doing daily household work, dressing themselves or any activity that overhead movement occurs. Stiffness will progressively get worse and can last for many months unless treatment and rehabilitation occurs.

What can your chiropractor do?

Seeing a chiropractor for a non-invasive treatment and mobilization of the shoulder can restore movement and restore the ability to participate in daily activities once restricted by frozen shoulder. The mobilizations are gentle, steady and never painful, as well as most of it being passive for the patient, meaning the patient is relaxed and the doctor has control of the arm and shoulder. The treatment phase can last several weeks up to months with increasing movement along the way, this is known as the thawing phase.

Your Bozeman Chiropractor, would focus on relieving the pain, minimizing the muscle deterioration, and thawing the shoulder back to health!
