The Power of Sleep
Getting quality sleep is essential for your body to function on a daily basis. Lack of sleep can have many negative effects not only physically, but mentally and physiologically as well.
So how much sleep is actually required? Listed below are the different age groups and the general recommendations for rest.
Infant: 14-15 hours
Toddlers: 12-14 hours
School-age children:10-11 hours
Adults: 7-9 hours
The amount of hours you sleep at night is important, but what really counts is the quality of sleep your getting.There are two main stages of sleep. Non-REM sleep and REM sleep. REM ( Rapid Eye Movement) sleep is the stage where dreaming occurs. Getting quality deep sleep or REM sleep plays a major role in maintaining your health and boosting your bodies energy levels for the day ahead.
With all of life's stresses, it's easy to skip out on good quality sleep. Here are some helpful tips on how to achieve blissful shuteye.
Set a sleep schedule

Try to maintain or decrease stress and anxiety levels
Eat right and be active
