Winter Roads in Bozeman

Winter roads in Bozeman

Winter time road conditions are typically snowy here in Bozeman but this year is a little out of the ordinary.  We have had more wet and icy snow and more freeze, thaw, freeze events creating more ice on the roadways than what seems like normal (maybe we are finding a new normal). These icy conditions are leading to challenging driving conditions.winter roads in bozeman, gallatin valley chiropractic bozeman montana

What is the most dangerous activity to participate in?

Driving is one of if not the most dangerous activities that most of us participate in. Even minor fender benders can cause significant tension and pain.

Here are some quick tips to help ease the challenge of traveling in adverse conditions:

  1. Please allow yourself more room between your vehicle and others.
  2. Give yourself a bit more time to get where you are going and slow down a bit while driving.
  3. Slow down well before you have to stop if you can anticipate the stop.
  4. Start slow from stops, as spinning your wheels contributes to icy conditions.
  5. Travel with lights on, day and night.
  6. Easy on the brakes. Lightly brake or pumping the brakes is much more effective at slowing  your vehicle or stopping your vehicle than stomping on the brakes.

Please be cautious, and if you have been in an auto accident, give Gallatin Valley Chiropractic a call.  The doctors at Gallatin Valley Chiropractic have the skill and professionalism to get you feeling back to normal.
